The legal practice

My work centers on real estate development — those really big, multi-party projects that change skylines and house people and goods. I sometimes sit with the sponsor, the institutional investor, the lender, or the operating partner. These are not your everyday buy-sell-build transactions. They all require a level of intellect and cleverness that challenges me daily. My clients pay me to be both clever and smart. You get the benefit of my experience, wisdom, and…some cleverness. The author

I write fantasy fiction — the morally complicated kind, with characters who desire to be good or evil but exist in the penumbra between the two. It is an amazing hobby that keeps my mind sharp and allows me to pursue my love of writing in a way that I find enjoyable. My current project is a series of novels set in a world I created called The Grimtide Series. If you are here for my fiction writing, then welcome! In other news

I love baseball. I love fantasy baseball. I have played in the same fantasy baseball league with basically the same group of men for the past 30 years. None of them care about real estate or grimdark fantasy and that is, on balance, a useful group of friends to have.
